Inspirational: Maria Kovacs

Australian ex-pat to the UK, Maria Kovacs has one of the most coveted hairdressing jobs in the world: TIGI Session Director!
She works on all major TIGI shows and shoots as well as on the major Fashion weeks. She was also part of the Team that helped develop Catwalk by TIGI Session Series.

Armed with an amazing work-life philosophy and calm demeanour, Maria is now a valuable part of one of the world’s leading session catwalk teams – the TIGI International Artistic Team.

Last week was Maria Kovacs in Holland for the dutch Hair Up course at TIGI Talenthouse. I got the chance to meet her for the first time! She’s such a friendly, funny and nice person! Nice to work with. Love how she relates Fashion and advertising into hairstyle, amazing! As I’m responsible for the education over in Holland, I arranged the models and was very nervous if they were good enough and Maria assured me they were. As I saw them on stage it sure did look FABULOUS!!

She created some magic:
This first look is from Mark Fast Spring/Summer ’12. The hair she created backstage during fashion week she re-created on stage.

This was the first look she did.
Model: Erin van Dongen

The second look is more of an evening look and looked perfect with the models face and the gown she wore.

It was funny to see her long hair turning into a beautiful bob-like updo. The dress was so long and the model was just the right hight. The green and blue-ey colours looked amazing on her. Looked really chique for a gala!
Model: Lotte Bos

The third look was a look recreated from the Mara Hoffman show during Spring/Summer Fashion week.

It was such an easy updo and it looked so fabulous with the fabric of the dress braided in the hair. So So pretty on the model combined with the dress. She looked amazing.
Model: Alexe Jansen

Great summer looks that sure did inspire me a lot!!

The next day, Maria presented her Fashion Forecast presentation. It was such a great think to hear how she puts clothes and style of designers with the hair and translates it to a perfect feeling.

I Found some pictures on Maria’s tumblr:

The hair style Maria created for the clothes of Pam Hogg for Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer ’12
